We’re Back (Again)

May 26, 2019 • meowsome No comments

Nogard’s host recently experienced a data breach, and all Minecraft server owners’ data was stolen. Due to this, the server was offline for most of the weekend and Friday. In the midst of all of this, a staff member of the host “accidentally” wiped all server data, including Nogard’s data. So, unfortunately, we’ve had to result to using a backup from April 29th, 2019, which means anything you did between then and now on the server was lost. I’ve just recently purchased an external SSD drive, which I will be using to store more frequent backups of the server. We’re really sorry about this, but Nogard is back up and running for now. Please contact a staff member to let us know if there is anything we can do to help! We understand that this is frustrating, since it’s Nogard’s 2nd data loss of this year alone. I’ve attempted to get the server back into a similar state that it was in when it went down, including any updates added between April 29th and now. Please let us know if anything seems to be missing.

More Survival Claims for Higher Ranks & 1.14.1 Support

May 16, 2019 • meowsome No comments

Good evening,

Thanks to the awesome developer of Nogard’s new chunk claiming plugin for the new Survival section of the server, higher ranks now have access to more chunk claims! Here is the current breakdown:

  • Regular members get 10 max claims
  • Ranks V and above get 15 max claims
  • Rank X and all Prestige ranks get 25 max claims

Also, Nogard now supports Minecraft version 1.14.1, and some minor bugs and flaws when joining with a higher client version than the server were fixed! Nogard still runs on Minecraft 1.12 for its core.

Hope you enjoy these minor changes, and hope to see you on sometime!

New Donator Rank, Survival Updates, & More

May 3, 2019 • meowsome No comments

Good morning!

There is now a new donator rank on Nogard: Wyrm! It’s $5, and comes with less perks than the other two ranks, but it does have some basic features that the others have! Check it out by visiting our store. Also, the “Dragon” rank was renamed to “Hydra” to fit with the theme of our donator ranks, which are names of dragon species.

The Survival chunk claiming plugin received an update, and now has some new features thanks to the developer! Here are the new features:

  • Multiple bug fixes.
  • Pvp is now disabled inside of chunks.
  • Regular players still have 10 claims max, but now the V rank and above get 15, and the X rank and above get 25. (COMING SOON, NOT WORKING AT THE MOMENT)
  • There’s now a command to unclaim all your chunks at once.
  • You can list all of the chunks you own for the world you’re in with /chunk list

Also, here are some other updates:

  • The hologram and hover text for the amount of players in the Survival world now incorporate the nether and the end too.
  • The Wyvern and Hydra mines have been slightly nerfed.
  • The Skyblock challenges have been updated slightly to allow for up to 100 repetitions instead of 1.

1.14 Support & Bug Fixes

Apr 26, 2019 • meowsome No comments

Good evening!

Nogard now supports players with Minecraft version 1.14 to join! It will be a little buggy for them, and items such as doors, glass panes, fences, and more may not work properly. There’s nothing I can do about the bugs at the moment, but if you really wish to join using 1.14, the option is there! Nogard still runs 1.12 in its core, so you will only be able to use blocks or animals or such from 1.12.

Here are some other updates that were added recently:

  • There’s a new Parkour lobby (Pictured above), built by BucketMuncher! Go check it out!
  • Fixed the voting website not working.
  • The announcement for new players joining was fixed.
  • Nether portal teleportation in Survival was fixed.
  • End portal teleportation in Survival was hopefully fixed.
  • Two new rules were added to the server:
    • Rented player shops in Survival may only be used for shops.
    • Griefing someone else’s build or stealing someone else’s stuff in Survival could be ban-able.
  • A small bug on the Oak parkour course was fixed.
  • The Staff Applications forum has been reorganized to clear the main forum of already reviewed staff applications.

Survival is Here, Alongside Other Updates

Apr 20, 2019 • meowsome No comments

This is the moment many of you have been waiting for: Survival is finally on Nogard! After a few months of work, it’s finally ready for release, and hopefully bug-free. You can read more about it at this page.

Here are some of the notable features:

  • You can access the Survival menu at any time by typing /survival in-game. It features a chest GUI with various useful shortcuts, including the ability to teleport to where you left off when you last visited the world.
  • You are able to claim “chunks” with the /chunk claim command.
    • Everyone gets a maximum of 10 claims. This will be increased later on.
    • Each chunk is $5,000 in-game each, with the first being free.
  • The world has a radius of 10,000 blocks.
  • You’re able to rent areas in the Survival spawn for 1 month intervals where you can set up chest shops for other players to purchase or sell items to or from you.
  • The Survival world has a nether and an end.
  • Regular players get 1 /sethome, Wyvern donors get 2, and Dragon donors get 3.

Here are some other smaller updates worth noting:

  • The old “Chest Shop” plugin we were using unfortunately doesn’t work well with our new host for some reason. We’ve switched to another plugin that fulfills the same concept, but in a slightly different way. Read about how to set this up for your Skyblock or Survival player shop here towards the bottom of the screen.
  • The /spawn command now teleports you to the spawn of the world you are currently in, while /lobby and /hub teleport you back to the main lobby.
  • That anti-cheat plugin we were testing out just didn’t seem to be performing well, so we’ve switched back to our old one. You shouldn’t be kicked randomly anymore.
  • Everyone now has access to /afk! That was a silly donor perk.
  • The /buy command was broken, but now it works again.
  • The Prison crate has received a very minor buff.

If you experience any bugs, please contact staff! If it’s a major bug you discover, you could receive some compensation for finding it. Thank you, and Happy Easter!
